Federal Agency Websites

Most federal agencies have excellent websites with valuable information. Many questions you have might be answered on one of these sites.

GovBenefits - A partnership of federal agencies and organizations to help you find government benefits you may be eligible to receive.

Bureau of Citizenship & Immigration Services - the BCIS homepage gives information about BCIS services and benefits and current immigration laws and regulations, and also allows you to download or request BCIS forms.
Department of State - the State Department homepage offers information about how to obtain passports and visas and other travel information.

Department of State Embassy & Consulate - the worldwide links page will take you to the Consular Sections at U.S. Embassy and Consulate websites, where you can get phone numbers, fax numbers, e-mails, etc.

Social Security Administration - the SSA hompage has information about benefits and services including Medicare.

Internal Revenue Service - the IRS homepage gives a countdown to April 15th. You can find out more about filing your taxes and getting forms and other IRS products.

Office of Workers' Compensation Program - the OWCP homepage has descriptions of workers' compensation programs under the Department of Labor, as well as federal employees compensation, coal miners' compensation, Longshoreman and Harbor Workers' compensation.
Equal Employment Opportunity Commission - the EEOC homepage provides both employees and employers with information on the federal laws prohibiting job discrimination, how to file a claim, employer training and more.

Office of Personnel Management - the OPM homepage provides information relevant to current and retired federal employees.

The Merit Systems Board - the MERIT homepage provides infomation on the board which hears appeals of federal employees of dismissals and other major personnel actions.
National Personnel Records Center - the NPRC homepage provides information on their agencies services which include access to military and civilian personnel records.

Employee Benefits Security Administration - EBSA, formerly known as the Pension and Welfare Benefits Administration, provides news and information on agency services.  The agency also has an online page for electronic inquiries.
