Bingaman: New Mexico to Benefit from Millions in Housing Grants Print Share

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman today announced that the Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded 28 New Mexico organizations grant funding to help meet the needs of homeless populations.

“This federal grant funding will help provide shelter and safety to many homelessness New Mexicans,” Bingaman said.

Grants were awarded to the following organizations:

  • Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless, Inc.: $135,267
  • Barrett Foundation, Inc.: $121,227
  • Bernalillo County: $92,329
  • Casa Milagro, Inc.: $82,250
  • Catholic Charities: $718,271
  • Catholic Charities of Gallup: $26,727
  • City of Albuquerque: $2.44 million
  • City of Las Cruces: $200,588
  • City of Santa Fe: $680,820
  • Sandoval County: $197,592
  • Crossroads for Women(formerly Human Rights Advocacy): $304,774
  • Curry County: $129,864
  • Dream Tree Project, Inc.: $78,136
  • El Refugio, Inc.: $66,150
  • Esperanza Shelter For Battered Families, Inc.: $94,500
  • Goodwill Industries of New Mexico: $114,866
  • Haven House, Inc.: $50,000
  • S.A.F.E. House: $42,096
  • Saint Elizabeth Shelter Corporation: $135,912
  • Samaritan House Inc.: $96,164
  • San Juan County Partnership: $66,713
