504 Program Print Share
SBA's 504 program provides small businesses with the opportunity to obtain 90 percent financing for fixed asset projects. The program is administered by SBA-licensed private organizations that channel investment capital to small and mid-sized enterprises. Working in conjunction with local banks these organizations help to identify potential business participants, perform credit analyses, recommend loan approval, and close and then service loans that they initiate. Small businesses can utilize this program to expand product lines, purchase equipment and hire new employees. Furthermore, the interest rate for 504 loans, determined periodically by the SBA, is fixed for the term of the loan and typically is slightly lower than market rates.
