Bingaman: New Mexico Fire Departments Share Nearly $250,000 in Federal Grants Print Share

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman today announced that four New Mexico fire departments will receive a total of nearly $250,000 in federal grants through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

"Through these grants, the federal government is helping guard the safety of New Mexicans.  I can think of no better investment in our state," Bingaman said.

The grants are awarded as follows:

  • $131,976 to Gallup Fire for operations and safety 
  • $15,984 to Winston-Chloride Volunteer Fire Department for operations and safety
  • $52,592 to Village of Dora Fire Department operations and safety
  • $49,305 to Corona Fire Department for operations and safety
