Weekly Update: Payroll Tax Extension Print Share
U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman details important developments in the Senate this week, namely extension of the payroll tax cut, unemployment insurance, and the Medicare "doc fix" that ensures physicians will receive full payment for treating Medicare recipients. Bingaman supported the Congressional compromise and believes the deal handles each of these extensions responsibly; Bingaman was disappointed that extensions for certain energy tax credits were not included and will continue to fight for these in the coming year.
