The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is the largest producer of security documents in the United States, producing over 9 billion Federal Reserve notes each year (coins are produced by the United States Mint).

The BEP offers 40-minute congressional tours at 8:15 am, 8:45 am, 4:00 pm, 4:14 pm, 4:30 pm, and 4:45 pm, Monday through Friday (afternoon times are only available April through August).  Congressional tours are limited to groups of ten.  Please note that these tours fill up quickly.  Contact my office at (202) 224-5521 to request a congresional tour.

Public tours begin every 10 minutes from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday through Friday.  Evening tours from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm are offered in the summer, June through August.   • Francine Irving Neff under President Ford from June 21, 1974 until January 19, 1977;
  • Katherine D. Ortega under President Reagan from September 22, 1983 until January 19, 1989 and under President Bush from January 22, 1989 until July 20, 1989.
