Weekly Update Energy Bills and Immigration Policy Print Share
U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman discusses two energy-related bills he introduced this week to address important areas of the country's energy policy, both address drilling for oil and gas; one is a measure that would implement safety precautions in response to the Deepwater Horizon disaster last April and the other encourages appropriate domestic drilling. Bingaman also highlights a committee hearing this week on the transfer of public lands into the management of the National Park Service; one area being considered for transfer is New Mexico's Valles Caldera. Bingaman discusses his strong agreement with President Obama's stance toward immigration; Bingaman believes we are making progress but the country still needs comprehensive reform.
