Helping Keep Teachers in Schools; Voting to Confirm a Supreme Court Justice Print Share

U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman discusses the passage of federal funding that will help save teacher's jobs and protect health insurance for lower-income individuals as states deal with budget shortfalls this year. (The House will return next week for a final vote on the bill and is expected to pass the measure.) Bingaman also talks about the expected Senate confirmation of Elena Kagan as Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, and the disappointing setback for a comprehensive energy bill. Bingaman will be in New Mexico during the August recess work period.
