Weekly Update: Voting on the House Republican Budget Print Share
U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman outlines some of his reasons for voting against the House Republican budget, also known as the Ryan budget, in this week's podcast. The proposal would make devastating cuts to healthcare programs in particular, such as Medicare and Medicaid, over the next ten years; the Republican budget would shift funding to a voucher program in an effort to save money, which would pass the costs onto New Mexico and other states and the people who depend on these programs.
